What do you define as “natural” soap?
When we say that our soaps are natural we mean they are nontoxic and they are free from artificial fragrances, hardeners, lather enhancers, preservatives, color pigments, and detergents. In many cases, our soaps are made using organic ingredients. We use naturally derived essential oils and ingredients (plant extracts); and color with clays, organic herbs, and plant extracts.
Do you have to use lye when making your soap?
Yes. Lye, also known as sodium hydroxide, is a chemical compound that is essential for soap making. In its natural form, it is highly dangerous, but when combined with oils, saponification, it will produce beautiful, high quality soap. When saponification occurs, a process where the lye bonds to the oils, the finished product has no lye.
Why we use essential oils (real) versus fragrance (synthetic) oils?
Essential oils are extracted from various plants, flowers, herbs, spices and fruits. Fragrance oils are chemically manufactured in a lab and can be harmful to the skin.
How should I store my soaps?
All soaps should be stored in a cool, dark and dry location until ready for use.
Is By Jah Soap Co. soap handmade?
Yes, we still make soap the way we first began! Our preferred method is cold process, which also means each soap bar sits for a minimum of four weeks before it leaves the curing shelf and is shipped to you.
Do you offer free shipping?

How long can one soap last?
The number of individuals using the soap bar has a great influence on this estimation. However, in our experience one soap last for one person one month. Don’t let your soap drown in water after use. Lots of fresh air between uses helps to preserve the life of the soap bar. Store your soap on our wooden soap preserver.
How can I make my soap last longer? / What about the shelf life?
Our wooden soap preservers are essential for ensuring each soap bar lasts as long as it possibly can. The slots allow the soap bar to dry in between uses. The bar soaps we produce will not go bad, however as time progresses they may lose potency of their scents.

Thank you! We are very grateful for your purchase. Please allow 2-3 days for update shipping information after order has been placed. We ship via USPS or UPS in most cases.
I can't use most soaps due to my sensitive skin. Will I be able to use yours?
They are all ideal for sensitive skin, however those with hypersensitive skin, allergies or simply prefer unscented product, we recommend you try our oats honey + coco milk soap bar.
